| Exhibition Views "Independent publishing provides a much needed creative and political intervention into our media landscape. The Zine UnBound: Kults, Werewolves and Sarcastic Hippies looks at independently produced artists' publications as a model of collaborative activity as well as an alternative exhibition space. The collective spirit of three noteworthy zines is profiled here: K48, based in Brooklyn, New York, Werewolf Express, based in Los Angeles, and Hot & Cold, based in Oakland. Selected art works and new commissions by the editors and contributors of each zine will cover the gallery walls, turning the exhibition space into a three dimensional text. Also featured is a historic collection of zines dating from the 90s, from the archives of noteworthy gay fiction writer and zine publisher Dennis Cooper.
