VideoFingerprinting
                                                            <<back

VideoFingerprinting seeks to liberate and celebrate the unique electrical signals inherent in every human body. The human body transforms chemicals into electrical energy. In VideoFingerprinting we use our handmade synthesizers to translate this human energy into audio and video. We are also interested in the differences between individual bodies and their electrical signals. Each body produces a different, unique signal, which is transmitted via skin conductance and influenced by brain organization, body development, and even emotional state. In VideoFingerprinting, participants are invited to place their fingertips on a Wirefull device that transforms their bodies’ signals into live audio and video. VideoFingerprinting is presented with our homemade synthesizer instrument Sync Armonica as well as 4 electronic devices called CircuitTacos and 8 7-meter long wires. The participants touch the ends of these long wires that are connected to the synthesizer through the CircuitTacos. The CircuitTacos are signal amplifiers constructed out of custom electronics, laser cut cardboard, and fabric. The wires are covered with hand-woven fabric to provoke touch and draw attention to the tactile experience of manipulating sound and video in this way.
